Mega Save Optical
Community optical shop website
Overview
Mega Save Optical is a family-run optical store on Bloor Street West in Toronto. I built them a site that lays out their services and brings in local customers looking for appointments and eyewear.
The Problem
The store had no online presence. Anyone searching locally for an optician, or for a brand they stocked, or for a current promotion, found nothing.
My Role
Designed and built the site: structure, content layout, responsive implementation, promotional popups, and local SEO.
Key Features
- —Five core pages: Home, Brands, Services, About Us, Contact
- —Promotional popups for location details and active offers
- —Responsive from phone widths up to 40-inch ultra-wide monitors
- —Local SEO setup: semantic HTML, clean URLs, and metadata for Toronto search visibility
- —Consistent branding and clear calls-to-action throughout
Challenges
The store sells on reputation, and reputation is not a feature list you can put on a page. Most of the work went into layout and copy that carry the trust without crowding it.
What I Learned
If I rebuilt it, I'd make the promotions editable by the owners. That is the part of the site that changes most, and right now it needs me.
