Keyvan Fehri Portfolio

Overview

Keyvan Fehri is a Toronto ceramic artist who needed a place to show his work and send collectors to his existing Etsy store. I built a lightweight portfolio that syncs his listings in from Etsy.

The Problem

An Etsy storefront on its own does not convey artistic credibility. Galleries, collaborators, and press want to see a body of work in context, somewhere other than a marketplace listing page.

My Role

Designed and built the site: responsive layout, collections browsing, artist statement sections, and the Etsy feed integration that takes a visitor from a piece to its listing.

Challenges

An art portfolio has to sit behind the work. I kept the interface minimal so the photography carries the page.

What I Learned

If I extended it, I'd cache the Etsy feed locally. When their API is down the gallery reads as empty, which puts the whole page on somebody else's uptime.
